Winter is my favorite season!

In the winter, I enjoy spending time on the slopes with my "winter
family." Playing outdoors in the beautiful Maine mountains with my friends is a joyful balm to my soul. I love skiing,
but it's not just that -- I am grateful that I can exercise, socialize, savor the scenery and help people at the same time.
The National Ski Patrol has been a major part of my life since I was in high school, and I have been on patrol at Saddleback
since 1987. Year after year, I find fulfillment in bandaging up folks who are injured and hauling them down the hill on a
toboggan.
Think snow!

For quite a few years, I taught people with disabilities to ski
at Sugarloaf. Guiding someone who is blind or tethering a person who uses sit-down ski equipment is a physical and creative challenge --
and it's a blast. The volunteers and participants with Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation are awesome.
